Pre-Adoption
How Pre-Adoption Works
Neonatal Kittens
We foster a lot of “bottle babies”, kittens that do not have a nursing queen that are hours to days old. They are too young to be adopted, but they are not too young for you to fall in love with them! If the kitten is otherwise healthy and close to adoptable age, we can “reserve” a kitten for you. Contact us with the name and ID number, if applicable, of the kitten you are interested in, and we will send you the paperwork to get the adoption process started. As soon as your new family member is of adoptable age and weight, which varies according to the needs of each animal, then we will coordinate getting the kitten spayed or neutered and to your home!
“Medical” Kittens
Sometimes our fosters come to us with illnesses - colds, fleas, itchy skin - and they need some time to recuperate and be healthy enough for adoption. Contact us with the name and ID number, if applicable, of the animal you are interested in, and we will send you the paperwork to get the adoption process started. As soon as your new family member is healthy enough to come home to you, then we will coordinate the adoption!
Sanctuary Felines
Flopsy’s Friends Foundation is a sanctuary for heavily injured or traumatized felines that need long-term care and healing. Some of our fosters have extensive experience with such animals, and we have a high rate of success. Once we determine these animals are ready to transition to a permanent home, we will list them to the Available for Adoption page. If any of our Sanctuary cats tug on your heart strings, please let us know. We are happy to talk to you more about their history and progress.
